Not unless you are a Certified Travel Agent - have an IATA card. Even if you are doesn't mean there would be a Travel Agent Discount, as they don't apply at all hotels/airlines/car rentals/etc.
2 :
If you want travel agent rates.... become a referral travel agent... it is easy... join my team, get your certification online( takes only a couple of minutes).. and save on ALL your travel, flights, hotels, rental cars, cruises, resort vacations, etc... and also you can make money referring others to your travel site... Many people are doing this just to save on their own travel expenses... you can travel almost at cost... Let me know if you would like more details...Thanks,Linda drreams2fortune@yahoo.com

They must have forgotten it.
5 :
Because CLEVELAND ROCKS!!

Same reason it doesn't have Toledo, Akron/Canton, Youngstown, Pitsburg, etc. They can't list every city, so they choose the most populated and don't list cities that are close to one another. Notice that they don't list many state capitals (capitals of ND, SD, Michigan, Conn, Iowa, New York, etc are not listed) . They could try to just list the states and then for states like Texas and California, list the regions.

About travel or entertainment advice around Columbus Ohio

Travel or entertainment advice around Columbus Ohio?
My boyfriend and I want to do something interesting together on the weekend of 1/28/2011. We have both Saturday and Sunday free. We live in Columbus, Ohio. I checked the live shows going on that weekend, nothing interesting. I'd like to get some advices on what to do to avoid being couch potatoes that weekend. Short non stop flight or reasonable amount of driving is ok. Please advice. Thank you.

Have you gone to COSI? You don't have to be a kid to enjoy it that's good for 3 or 4 hours. A trip to Cleveland Should include a trip to the Museum of Art In my opinion its the 2 nd best museum in the midwest(after the Institute of Art in Chicago).

About what is the best way to travel to Gainsville Florida from Columbus Ohio

What is the best way to travel to Gainsville Florida from Columbus Ohio?
round trip with no stops. and how much money?

try mapquest.com

I-75
3 :
The best way is to hop into your car, get on I-75, and in about 13 hours you're there. It is that simple. Get a driving buddy and take turns, and you'll get it done in a day, one night stay at the most. That will almost definitely be cheaper than flying more times than not. Otherwise, try Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, and Priceline and try to find the best price. Good luck!
4 :
Looks like Orlando would be the closest airport to you that would fly non-stop. Jacksonville and Gainsville would both have to be connecting flights. You can alwasy get great deals out of Orlando anyway. I would think if you book well in advance you could probably find fares as low as around 200 or maybe high 100's if you are lucky.
5 :
there is no round trip available with no stops
6 :
Driving down I-75 is your best bet. If you fly, go into Tampa. Gainesville is only 2 hours away, straight up 75.

About What is the best unique travel destination within 4 hours of Columbus, OH

What is the best unique travel destination within 4 hours of Columbus, OH?
I'm looking to go on a weekend "getaway" kind of close to home. I would like to go somewhere unique that has culture and some fun things to do. Any suggestions?? Personal experiences that you have had that were particularly memorable? I'm 20 and the person traveling with me is 26 so we don't just want to sit around all weekend. Thanks! I guess I should clarify that I'm looking to get out of Ohio...Kentucky, Indiana...anything that's not too far away.

Columbus and unique do not belong in the same sentence.....no offense, it's just that's it's Ohio (probably not your fault you're there), the only thing in Ohio worth going to is either a Blue Jackets game, or Cleveland, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

About What winds would Columbus have used to travel from Spain to the Caribbean

What winds would Columbus have used to travel from Spain to the Caribbean?

Westerlies and Trade winds The Westerlies or the Prevailing Westerlies are the prevailing winds in the middle latitudes between 30 and 60 degrees latitude, blowing from the high pressure area in the horse latitudes towards the poles. The winds are predominantly from the southwest in the Northern Hemisphere and from the northwest in the Southern Hemisphere. Together with the trade winds, the westerlies enabled a round-trip trade route for early European sailing ships. The trade winds are a pattern of wind that are found in bands around the Earth's equatorial region. The trade winds are the prevailing winds in the tropics, blowing from the high-pressure area in the horse latitudes towards the low-pressure area around the equator.

Greyhound does not feel that it is necessary to tell people if it has a stop in Mason. You can check their website or call them, but in the end, you are riding on the Third World Alternative transportation system. 513-352-6012 Cincinnati terminal Megabus [www.megabus.com] serves the Cincinnati to Columbus route, leaving from Fourth Street downtown. Cincinnati. Buses are clean, all passengers have computers, one way fare from Cincinnati to Columbus is $15. The difficulty in either case is getting a ride from Mason to downtown Cincinnati. Taxi fare will cost you about $2. / mile. That's about $48.

About Columbus Travel Agency - Ecuador

Columbus Travel Agency - Ecuador?
I know this is a long shot... but has anyone heard of "Columbus Travel" based in Ecuador? We are considering using them for our trip to the Galapagos, but I don't know much about them, and neither has anyone else that I know. Also, they don't take credit cards, which bothers me a bit. Any help would be appreciated. Here is their website: http://www.galapagosisland.net/index.html Thanks!

I can't help you with Columbus Travel, but I can offer an alternative. You might want to check into a company called Metropolitan Touring. They are a large (perhaps the largest?) travel agency based in ecuador with offices in many cities. They offer several prebuilt package trips to Galapagos and also operate a private charter boat that travels to the islands. They are a full service agency, with access to the sabre ticketing system. They accept all major credit cards including AMEX and Diners. I have no personal association with them, but have used them many, many times for my travel to Costa Rica, Colombia and Brazil in addition to throughout Ecuador. I highly recommend them. I am not certain of their website but with a brief search you should be able to locate it. Metropolitan Touring

your best bet may be to get to Cleveland somehow. Columbus is more mid-west oriented while Cleveland is more rust belt / north east oriented. While Columbus doesnt support Amtrack (Cleveland does), there may be greyhound (or another company) bus service.

About how many times did Columbus travel to the Caribbean islands

How many times did Columbus travel to the Caribbean islands?
& What type of ship enabled sailors to travel farther than ever before during the Columbus period and the shipbuilder was WHO???? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! BEST ANSWER GETS 10 POINTS!!!!!!!!!

Columbus made 4 trips to the Carribiean and South America. It wasn't so much the Ship that enabled Columbus to travel so far, heck the Vickings made it to Canada years before him in lesser craft. The major problem was money, who would back a voyage, pay the sailors, buy the provisions and outfit the voyage. The other major impediment was there were no accurate maps of how far it was between Europe and America. Columbus's voyage and his map makeing ability showed the rest of Europe exactly how far it was and how much provisions were needed. The Santa Maria was a nao, the flagship of the Columbus fleet. It was a merchant ship, between 200-600 tons. The boat's length was 75 feet with a wide beam, 25 feet. This allowed it to carry more people and cargo. She had a deep draft, 6 feet. The vessel had three masts, a mainmast, a foremast, and a mizzenmast. Five sails altogether were attached to these masts. Each mast carried one large sail. The foresail and mainsail were square; the sail on the mizzen was a triangular sail known as a lateen mizzen. The ship had a smaller topsail on the mainmast above the mainsail and on the foremast above the foresail. In addition, the ship carried a small square sail, a spritsail, on the bowsprit. In the diagram above, the spritsail cannot be seen. Each sail was attached to a long wooden pole, a yard, which spread the sail out across the top and held it open. The Santa Maria also had a crow’s nest on the mainmast. It had a raised stern. There was a forecastle in the bow of the ship. Most of the force used to drive this ship came from the largest mainsail. The other sails were used for "trimming." Though many sailors believed that the Santa Maria was a fine ship for her day, Columbus was not so impressed. He did not think it was a ship fit for discovery. Because of the deep draft, the vessel was not suited for sailing near reefs and shallow island waters. In fact, the craft ran aground off Hispaniola and had to be abandoned. The Nina and the Pinta were the same type of ship. These two ships in the fleet of Columbus were known as caravels. A caravel had a shallower draft than a nao, so it could move around in the water more easily. A caravel was150-300 tons. It did not have much cargo space, but it was able to sail over difficult waters easily. It was square-rigged on its foremasts and mainmasts, but used a lateen sail on the mizzen to help in tacking. It was so easy to control that sailors could easily explore shallow bays and the mouths of rivers. A caravel could hold about twenty crew members. They usually slept on the deck and would go below only if the weather was bad. Pinta was a caravel, a smaller, lighter, and faster ship than the tubby Santa Maria. She probably had three masts, and most likely carried sails like those of Santa Maria, except for the topsail, and perhaps the spritsail.

We took out a Single Trip policy with Columbus as it was cheaper than the travel agents policy. We never expected to use the policy so i didnt look at any reviews on Columbus. Unfortunatley my partner took ill and had to visit the doctor and he recieved some medication. We were really worried when we returned home and read the bad reviews about Columbus. We sent off our claim form along with all the attached information required e.g. medical certificate, medication labels etc. and within 6 weeks we have recieved our money back minus our excess. So we are very pleased with the process of claiming from Columbus. you can see the site:insuranceguide.org.ru

Here is a link for a report about them, from the Better Business Bureau: http://utah.bbb.org/WWWRoot/Report.aspx?site=139&bbb=1166&firm=2004852

First, check with your credit card to see if they offer travel insurance at no cost to you. If you have MasterCard credit or debit card, the benefits are somewhat spelled out at http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en/cardholderservices/guidetobenefits/index.html. Call the number to find out what specific extra benefits your bank may have. If they don't offer an insurance you like or need, get a copy of the policy from Columbus and read it over in detail to make sure it offers what you want.
