If you are going to travel alone at age 13, your safety is more important than cost. The train would be cheaper, but I would not consider it safe for someone your age. On a plane, an unaccompanied minor is carefully taken care of by airline personnel.

It will be cheaper for you on the plane, plus it's much safer. A few hours of airplane travel vs days on a train

Greyhound is your only choice. Their price is $143...they have recently doubled their prices. Their service is HORRID..and they lose luggage. I would recommend that you try checking on Craigslist and posting a message there too...under Rideshare. Worked great for me. There is also a new rideshare site called Zimride.

There are a lot of variables to this question! Are we talking a commercial flight? If so, this would depend on other connecting flights and Murphy's law. Now here's a thought that comes to mind. Some planes never make it! I once had to wait 45 minutes while the ground mechanics fixed an electrical problem. Talk about a mind game on that flight! 10-12 hours with a 1-2 hour layover at Chicago.

You are kidding right? With the price of fuel you don't have a chance for what you are looking added to the fact that you waited so long. The closer it gets to travel time the more expensive airfare gets. The prices you see now are as low as they are going to get. Columbus would be the cheapest for you to fly out of. It doesn't matter what site you use they will all say the same price as airfares do not discount wholesale like hotel rooms do. So far as hotels you don't say how long you want to stay. You aren't very specific on your travel plans for anyone to help. Add to the fact that you are considering the 4th of July means a holiday and weekend. Good luck.

First enter Carcassonne in your search engine....to gain more information. You can probably then discover which large city is closest, to which you fly into. The easiest thing would be to arrange to rent a car from the airport and drive to Carcassonne.

Hi, it depends on which side of Niagara Falls you're going to, the U.S. or Canadian. From Columbus, OH to Niagara Falls, NY is 8 hours (with 2 transfers in Cleveland, and Buffalo). This is the shortest trip, departing Columbus at 11:15 p.m., arriving Niagara Falls, NY at 7:15 a.m.. But if you meant the Canadian side, it's the same route except you'd be there at 7:30 a.m.. http://www.greyhound.com/ - It may cost over $100 USD round trip. The flooded areas that affect major highways are those that cross the Missisippi river. You won't have any problems: Take 70 West to 65 North to 90N to 94 North - on to 35 West right in to Bloomington. It's about a 12 hour drive - Rockford, IL is about halfway if you want to break it into a 2 day drive. It might be more fun to stay in Madison, WI - just 1 1/2 hours further north - and that would leave a quick 4 1/2 hour trip into Bloomington for the second day.

Rickenbacker AFB was located in or near Columbus, but I believe is has closed & is now an airport. (Wright-Petterson is in Dayton)

i don't think so. miamisburg is just 15 min or so away and it's a heck of a lot nicer than dayton. i wouldn't live in dayton again for anything.

Not exactly. What you have is the Ohio Air Natinal Guard there at Rickenbaker. The 121st Air Refueling Wing, the 164th Weather, and the HQ of the Ohio Air National Guard. If you are looking to join the regular USAF, then you are barking up the wrong tree. You can tell them where you would LIKE to be stationed, but they are going to send you where they need you. If you want to be in Columus, and be in the USAF, then you will need to check into joining the Ohio Air National Guard.

The only real Air Force base left in Ohio is Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton. There might be a few Air National Guard Armories around. Well you if you want to live in Columbus you might want to check with the housing officer and your commanding officer to see if they have any problem with it. As long as it does not interfere with your job preformance, and you can get to and from the base without any issues they might not have a problem. But every base is different. So the best advice I can give is like I said, just check with the housing officer and your commanding officer.

I am from Ohio and when I got married I went to an office in Columbus for my ID and insurance. Not sure what it is called though..sry. Ohio is pretty nice, just like anywhere else has it's bad parts. Hope this helps and if I can find out the name from my hubby (he is in Iraq so when he calls I will ask) I will let you know.
